The internship in a nutshell
You join the Enterprise Data Platform team to contribute to the development of a Monitoring & Optimization Product built on a modern Delta Lakehouse architecture. The role spans data engineering, platform observability, FinOps and data governance.
You analyse usage patterns, table structures and performance behaviour, parse logs from Azure Storage and Delta Lake, and detect optimisation gaps such as small-file issues. You also help build monitoring components that provide transparency on platform usage and costs, and you visualise insights in Qlik dashboards used by platform managers and architects. The internship concludes with the delivery of a functional monitoring and optimisation framework in a real enterprise cloud environment.
We are looking for
You are a master’s student in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Engineering. You are comfortable working with Python or SQL and are motivated by understanding how systems behave under scale.
You have a strong interest in DevOps practices, distributed data platforms, and observability. Experience with Spark, Azure, or Git-based workflows is a plus, but curiosity, analytical thinking and structured problem solving are more important.
